We’ve partnered with Saint John’s Organic Farm in Emmett to raise a flock of our laying hens on their beautiful pastures! During the warm months, the hens live on pasture and are moved weekly to fresh grass in mobile chicken coops (chicken tractors) that follow the cattle in a natural, symbiotic grazing system. In the winter, the hens are kept on deep bedding of wood chips with access to a large outdoor yard so they can remain active year-round. Their feed is a carefully balanced organic ration that is free of corn, soy, and added seed oils. The flock also receives organic apple cider vinegar in their water to boost their digestive health.
These eggs are ungraded and left unwashed, which preserves the egg’s natural protective bloom. Because of this natural coating, the eggs can remain shelf-stable at room temperature for about two weeks. For longer storage, refrigeration is recommended.
