At Grandad Farms, we're happy to supply high-quality, locally sourced layer feed to support the health and productivity of your flock. Our non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free formula is carefully crafted to promote strong eggshells, healthy digestion, and superior egg production.
 
The main ingredients, peas and sorghum, are sourced from non-sprayed crops for a clean and natural diet for your hens. Additionally, since chickens are omnivores, meat and bone meal provide an essential source of highly digestible amino acids, calcium, and phosphorus, supporting optimal bone health, feather development, and consistent egg laying. This balanced formulation ensures that your hens receive the nutrients they need to thrive—without unnecessary fillers. This feed may not be suitable for fermenting.
 
We offer two layer feed options, both non-GMO, corn-free, and soy-free, made locally with carefully sourced ingredients like peas and sorghum from non-sprayed crops. The difference comes down to protein level and purpose.
Our 17% protein mash is formulated as a complete, everyday layer feed.
Our 21% protein pellets are best used as a seasonal supplement—ideal during molting, winter months, or other short-term stress periods when hens benefit from higher protein. Feeding high-protein diets for extended periods can be hard on laying hens, so we recommend using this option temporarily.

Pickup & Delivery Options
We offer both pickup and delivery for your convenience. Delivery within Treasure Valley has a $15 fee at checkout. $15 delivery takes place on Fridays, but you can order a special delivery for $20. Add the product to cart and head to checkout to choose which fulfillment method is most convienient for you! Soon after you place an order, Mark will text you to arrange pickup or delivery.
